To The Attention of IMPPC2019 Participants Making Connections through
Istanbul Atatürk Airport:
The current airport in İstanbul, "Atatürk Airport" is terminating its
operations and moving to the new "Istanbul airport". All scheduled
flights at Atatürk Airport will end on April 6, 2019 at 02:00 pm, and
any previously planned flights will continue from 02:00 pm onwards from
Istanbul Airport (new airpot) on the same day.
Based on the available information, the moving operations will start on
April 5 Friday at 03:00 a.m. The moving operation will take 45 hours in
total and it will be concluded on April 6 Saturday night at 23:59.
Atatürk Airport (old airport) and Istanbul Airport (New airport) will be
closed for all scheduled passenger flights between 02:00 a.m. and 02:00
p.m. of April 6. After April 6 at 03:00 a.m., Atatürk Airport’s "IST"
code will be given to Istanbul Airport. Atatürk Airport, which will be
hosting cargo and VIP passenger flights, will use "ISL" code.
The move could cause some delays & rescheduling so please be alert and
check messages & emails sent by Turkish Airlines & your travel agency.
Please note that if you are connecting through the third airport (Sabiha
Gökçen, Code: SAW), it will stay as it is.
